Claudia Montecello and Dr. Patrick Spencer don't know each other(at least not yet) but both have a lot in common. Claudia is a twin but a complete opposite of her sister Harriet which a lot of times gets her in too deep. The deep is falling in love thinking it will be forever, ending up pregnant with twins and so called forever walks out the door. Patrick Spencer leaves England gives up his obstetrician position and moves to LA trying to start over after a family tragedy. Put both of these in an broken elevator and with Claudia in labor. Thankfully she is stuck with the right person to deliver her twins. Ms. Hampton is right on with the emotions and the wonderful end where Claudia is again with her twin. Lovely story one not to miss
The two people are trapped in an elevator, woman is in active labor with twins. Man is a doctor.
In an effort to provide comfort and a bit of cleanliness, doctor puts his jacket on the elevator floor. To have something relatively clean to put newborn babies on, he takes off his shirt.
At this point the writing takes off into the ridiculous.
The doctor takes off the gloves he used to answer the elevator phone and snaps on another pair. WHERE on earth, did he procure disposable gloves in that elevator?? He then takes STERILE scissors to cut her underwear so he can examine her. Where did these scissors come from???
He then coats the second pair of gloves with antibacterial solution which of course must have also magically appeared. Ditto the sterile surgical tie with which he clamped the cord of baby #1.
The only explanation would be that Patrick was carrying a medical bag full of equipment.
Has the author spent ANY time in the hallways of hospitals or medical office buildings? Has she ever seen a doctor carrying the mythical little black bag?
Somehow Patrick has morphed from a doctor who delivers babies to a cosmetic surgeon, making it sound as if one field of medicine is easily interchangeable with another.
The assumption that any doctor will, of COURSE, always have a complete bag of equipment with him, every time he steps into an elevator is absurd!
The description of the twins makes them sound fraternal, so why was all the talk only about placenta in the singular?
Ms. Hampton draws you into her story from the moment you flip to page one. Twin Surprise for the Single Doc is a vibrant, heartfelt and emotionally intense book brought to life through compelling prose and expressive characterization. Claudia Monticello and Patrick Spencer’s stories will tug at your darn heartstrings! I was emotional when I read that elevator scene. But wow! Claudia and Patrick’s story isn’t a smooth journey. The obstacles thrown in their paths test the limits of their strength and endurance. In the end love wins and for me it is all that matters—a happy ever after which overcomes the bumpy journey it takes to get to that rewarding and fitting ending!

TWIN SURPRISES FOR THE SINGLE DOC by author Susanne Hampton is a May 2016 release by Harlequin Medical Romance series.
Stepping into the lift/elevator one morning, Claudia Monticello didn’t expect the medical emergency which would follow. But she was grateful that the stranger in the elevator was a doctor. Dr. Patrick Spencer helped Claudia when she went in labor and delivered twin boys.
Now he couldn’t walk away from the twins or their brave mother. He doesn’t understand why, but he kept going back to visit the boys and their mom.
TWIN SURPRISES FOR THE SINGLE DOC is a story about a doctor who took blame for something he was not responsible for and moved away to start a new life. All the while blaming himself. Could he forgive himself and move on now that he has a chance at love and family? Author Susanne Hampton wrote this story about twin sisters who only have each other. This story would keep readers engrossed till the end.
Highly recommended for all readers of medical romance.
This is one of those stories that you will pick up fall into and not want to put down till the end it is beautifully written ticking all the boxes for what makes a great medical story with hope, love and a smile.
Claudia Montecello is a twin and very close but very different to her twin sister Harriet, Claudia jumps in feet first she is the risk taker and hence she is living and working in Los Angeles where she meets a guy falls for him and also falls pregnant but is then abandoned having twins. Claudia is planning on returning to England to have her babies and accepts that being a single Mum will work for her but a few days before she is to leave The States things go wrong in an elevator of all places and Claudia and her babies are left in the hands of a complete stranger although a gorgeous caring stranger who knows what he is doing.
Dr Patrick Spencer is an ex Brit living in Los Angeles since everything went wrong in his life with his family a tragedy that caused lots of heartache, he was a promising obstetrician but gave that up moved to LA and became a plastic surgeon he keeps to himself wanting a wife and family is not on his list working hard is but when a pregnant woman goes into early labour in a broken down elevator having twins everything comes back to him and he does what he can to save Claudia and the boys lives even if they did get off to a bad start.
I highly recommend this story the journey to their HEA is filled with ups and downs but they are so drawn to each other there is a pull that neither can deny for long and they are so good for each other helping with emotions, yes pick this one up sit back and enjoy there will be lots of emotions for you to enjoy but you will be smiling with the epilogue when Claudia and her twin Harriet are all together with such an extended family.
